About the event

PrivacyWorks is hosting an online Privacy Practitioners training seminar designed specifically for professionals working under Ontario’s FIPPA and MFIPPA legislation. This seminar will run over two half-days.

This practical session goes beyond theory. It focuses on what practitioners need to know about PIAs right now and how to apply it confidently in real-world situations.

Participants will gain actionable insights, practical tools, and the opportunity to learn directly from experienced privacy specialists.

We’ll use Privacy by Design principles to reinforce our understanding of why we complete PIAs and how you can build your PIA process. Learn about how you can use PIAs to promote privacy awareness with your staff, especially so they understand when they need to contact you about a PIA.

2:30 – 2:45 | Break

2:45 – 4:15 | Streamline your PIAs

We’ll talk about how to streamline your PIA process so that your staff understand what information you can ask them to provide at the front end of your PIA process. We’ll explore how you can adapt your PIA process and template to work with your different teams, systems, processes, and technologies. We’ll use case studies to illustrate PIA best practices.

We’ll look at common privacy risks and how to develop scalable, practical risk mitigation measures that adapt with your organization. We’ll use case studies to put this knowledge into practice so that you can review PIAs with confidence.

2:45 – 4:15 | PIAs that sustain your privacy compliance

PIAs are a tool that can be used to evolve with your organization. We’ll talk about how you can use PIAs to create a privacy compliance loop and bring Privacy by Design principles to life at your organization.
